Were you able to get this working? As stated, we should probably start with the basics.
- Is SNMP polling working for you? If not, please see this posting: snmpd.conf EXAMPLE.txt
- Once you have SNMP polling configured and working, then you have several options. You can use SAM and try to "automatically" discover the applications running on your Linux system, but most security-minded IT folks don't like this. They prefer that you already know what is running on your system and you just configure templates to monitor those applications. This may require SNMP access to the system, it may require that you create a local account with limited admin access for running scripts.
